We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer -Grid Authority to join Powertech on our clients commissioning project.

Position Overview:

• Super paid on all hours worked & great $$$ rates paid
• Role: Senior Electrical Engineer -Grid Authority 
• Roster: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 10 hour days
• Duration: 12 months work
• Start Date: ASAP
• Location: East Rockingham

Scope of Work:

• Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement
• Testing, Commissioning & Operations Readiness
• Power System Studies & Models
• Electrical Design & Integration (11 kV → 132 kV)
• Grid Connection & Regulatory Approvals

About You:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus preferred).
• 10+ years in HV power systems; 5+ years leading grid connections for utility‑scale generation in Australia (preferably WA).
• Proven delivery of projects interfacing with Western Power and AEMO, including GPS negotiation, R2 Model Validation, and Hold Points.
• Proficiency in PSSE, PSCAD (mandatory), and DIgSILENT PowerFactory; relay setting tools (Schneider, Siemens, GE, SEL or similar).
• Hands‑on experience with steam turbine generators, excitation/AVR, 11/132 kV transformers, HV switchgear, and protection coordination.
• Deep knowledge of NER Chapter 5 and applicable AS/NZS standards; familiarity with Western Power Technical Rules.
