Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced High Voltage Technicians to join Powertech supporting our Brisbane branch office on a casual basis.

About the Role

• Conduct HV primary and secondary injection testing including protection relays, CTs, VTs, and associated control systems
• Execute HV/LV transformer testing including insulation resistance, ratio, polarity, winding resistance.
• Test air circuit breakers (ACBs), circuit breakers, isolators, earthing switches, and associated auxiliary systems
• Work in outdoor environments up to and including 132kV and 275kV switchyards.
• Perform pre-energisation checks, point-to-point testing, and energisation support
• Prepare, review, and execute Test Plans, ITPs, ITRs and SWMNS.
• Produce detailed test reports and commissioning documentation on completion of works
• Complete JSHAs/JHAs prior to commencing works, actively identifying hazards and implementing effective controls.
• Participate in switching operations under permit and access authority frameworks
• Ensure compliance with client standards, network requirements, and internal QA/QC processes.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors, and clients to coordinate testing activities and resolve technical issues.
• Promote a strong safety culture and actively contribute to the team’s safety performance. 

About You

• Unrestricted QLD Electrical Fitter and Mechanic Workers License. 
• Minimum 5 years experience. 
• Valid Driver’s License. 
• HV Switching Ticket preferred. 
• Knowledge of appropriate Australian Standards. 
• Proven ability meeting project quality, schedule, and budget requirements. 
• Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
