Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join Powertech supporting our Malaga office on a Full-Time Permanent Basis.

About The Role:

• Design and engineering of renewable energy systems including solar PV, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Perform power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and dynamic stability studies
• Conduct earthing (grounding) studies including grid design, step/touch potential analysis, and soil resistivity assessment
• Carry out grid stability and connection studies to meet utility and regulatory requirements
• HV and LV network design, equipment sizing, cable selection, and routing
• Perform arc flash hazard analysis and develop mitigation strategies
• Develop protection philosophies and review relay settings
• Prepare technical specifications, reports, and drawings
• Interface with utilities, clients, and multidisciplinary teams during design and commissioning
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS), IEC, and utility standards
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities on site

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Relevant industry experience in renewables and power systems
• Familiarity with Australian and international standards 
• Renewable energy and BESS system integration
• HV/LV system design and analysis
• Power system modeling software (ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD)
• Protection and control systems
• Earthing and lightning protection design
• Arc flash risk assessment
• Grid code compliance
• Technical documentation and reporting
