We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer (Professional Engineer) to join Powertech on a major Rail Infrastructure Project.
Position Overview:
Super paid on all hours worked & great $$$ rates paid
- Role: Electrical Project Engineer (Professional Engineer) – Rail Project
- Roster: Monday–Friday (occasional Saturday as required)
- Hours: 10 hours per day
- Duration: 3–6 months (potential to extend)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Location: Brisbane, QLD
Scope of Work:
- Deliver and coordinate electrical engineering activities across a major rail infrastructure project.
- Manage HV/LV electrical installation works including cable containment, switchboards, lighting, earthing, and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Support project planning, scheduling, reporting, and progress tracking.
- Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, electrical standards, rail safety requirements, and quality processes.
- Assist with RFIs, NCRs, ITPs, commissioning documentation, and technical queries.
- Support multidisciplinary coordination across civil, mechanical, and rail systems interfaces.
About You:
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in electrical project engineering within rail, infrastructure, utilities, or major construction projects.
- Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems, construction methodologies, testing, and commissioning.
- Experience delivering projects in live rail or major infrastructure environments highly regarded.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery outcomes.
