We have an exciting opportunity for Mechanical Commissioning Technician’s to join Powertech on a Mining Shutdown.

 

Position Overview:

  • Short-term (Roughly 2-3 swings)
  • Start Date: From October 2026
  • Duration: Until End November 2026
  • Roster: 2:1 or as required by the project
  • (Generally, 1 week days/1 week nights - or as required by the project)
  • Hours: 12 hours per day
  • Location: Pilbara WA
  • Super paid on all hours worked & great $$$ rates paid
  • WA based applicants only at this stage (Interstate flights not covered)
  • Travel first and last day of swing

 

Scope of Work:

  • Perform mechanical commissioning activities on fixed plant equipment, including conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, chutes, and associated mechanical systems.
  • Conduct pre-start inspections, mechanical completion checks, and verification of equipment installation against drawings, specifications, and commissioning procedures.
  • Support functional testing, equipment run trials, alignment verification, lubrication, and fault identification to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Identify, document, and rectify mechanical defects, punch list items, and non-conformances in coordination with maintenance, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with site safety standards, permit-to-work requirements, isolation procedures, and shutdown schedules.
  • Complete commissioning documentation, test records, inspection reports, and handover packages to facilitate successful plant start-up and operational readiness.

 

About You:

  • Qualified Fitter/Mechanical tradesperson
  • Trade Certificate
  • Commissioning experience within Mining is required and /or Iron Ore experience is preferred.
  • CPR / LVR certificates 
  • First Aid
  • Confined space OR Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment
  • White card
