We have an exciting opportunity for E&I Commissioning Supervisors to join Powertech on a Mining Project.

 

Position Overview:

  • Roster: 8:6
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Hours: 12 hours per day
  • Nightshift works
  • Rate: Excellent rates $$$
  • Superannuation paid on ALL hours worked
  • Duration: 2-3 months work
  • Location: South Australia - Flights will be covered from any major capital in Australia
  • S26 NOT required

 

Scope of Work:

  • Supervise E&I commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to start-up and handover.
  • Lead and coordinate electricians, instrumentation technicians, commissioning technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Review commissioning procedures, ITPs, drawings, datasheets, loop diagrams, cable schedules, and vendor documentation.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, energisation, functional testing, loop checks, interlock testing, and system commissioning.
  • Ensure electrical equipment and instrumentation are tested, calibrated, and operational before handover.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, HSE, and the client commissioning team.
  • Plan daily commissioning activities, allocate resources, and monitor progress against the commissioning schedule.
  • Identify commissioning issues, defects, and incomplete works and ensure timely close-out.
  • Manage punch-list items and verify completion prior to system handover.
  • Ensure commissioning records, test sheets, redlines, certificates, and handover documentation are completed accurately.
  • Participate in FAT/SAT activities and vendor commissioning where required.
  • Support energisation and shutdown activities in accordance with approved isolation and permit systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with site electrical safety requirements, isolation procedures, permits, and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, pre-starts, commissioning coordination meetings, and task risk assessments.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during commissioning and start-up.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship, productivity, and compliance.
  • Report commissioning progress, constraints, risks, and outstanding issues to the Commissioning Manager.

 

About You:

  • WA – Unrestricted Electrical Licence (A-Grade)
  • Cert III or IV Instrumentation
  • Trade Certificate
  • CPR / LVR certificates 
  • First Aid
  • Confined space OR Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment
  • White card
